So much has happened during these two weeks. I've been SUPER busy with school. Finals are rapidly approaching and I'm uber worried about my SOS 207 and CI 102 grades.

April 17th was my 21st birthday! Yes, that's right, it's now perfectly legal for me to purchase alcoholic beverages! Which is fantastic! On my birthday I tried something called a Cherry Lifesaver. It is my new favorite thing EVER.

I finally got around to watching all of the Britney tour online. Once I was 100% sure I wasn't going to get to see it live I just had to watch it. My opinion? I LOVED it. It's my favorite of all her tours. I do not like that she doesn't interact with the audience a bit more, but besides that I don't have complaints. She looks as good as ever and seems to enjoy herself when on stage. (Well most of the time. Can we talk about the "smoking incident' in Vancouver?" Haha.)

Other Britney related stuff: Whats the next single gonna be? I'm super hardcore wanting it to be Unusual You. Also, her website just showcased this new mens Britney Spears Womanizer t-shirt and I want it SO bad. Too bad I'm a broke college student.

I've been keeping up with American Idol. I have decided that I'm in LOVE with Adam Lambert and want to adopt babies with him. This presents a problem because I also recently discovered Mika and I also love and want babies with him. Do you suppose they'd go for a like... love triangle type thing?

... Oh. I didn't think so either :(

Anyway, there's probably more that I could tell you, in fact I know there is. I haven't even got started about Gay Pride Week or Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. I'll save those exclusively for YouTube Vlogs.

Thanks for reading guys!
XoXo
Mikey

Read This.

The following is a piece written by a man named David Borkenhagen for his school newspaper. He is a student at McGill University. I just finished reading this and I think he writes and expresses himself incredibly well, and I just thought I'd share this with you people. So here is the story:

“You guys look like faggots,” I heard someone say in the general direction of where I was standing with a friend. Not a standard greeting, to say the least.

This comment confused me. Surely it must be a joke – a bad joke. But I’m not in danger. After all, this is Montreal, a progressive city where I feel safe and confident that people aren’t attacked based on their sexual orientation.

I looked up to see who was trying to get my attention. Standing before us is a tall, sturdily-built man, wearing clothes the same way a pile of laundry would. Flanking him were three other men, a few years older than my friend and I, with smirks reminiscent of junior-high bullies.

It seemed it was not a joke, or at least not one my friend and I were allowed to laugh at. These four men were quite serious. They had identified us as gay, and they were not okay with that.

I felt uneasy, but confident nothing would happen. In addition to being in Montreal, we also happened to be on St. Laurent just above Prince-Arthur, at 3:10 a.m. on a Friday night – a time when there could not be more people around.

I opted to respond to the comment with an exaggerated roll of my eyes, not something antagonistic but still ambiguously defiant. Hopefully they’d ease off. Hopefully they’d leave us alone.

“Hey, man, don’t suck my dick, okay? I’m not gay,” one of the men said. Feeling genuinely offended that this guy would reduce my existence to oral sex – like, as if that’s all I do with my spare time – I responded, “No thanks, I don’t want it.” Which, ironically, was not what they wanted to hear.

I could feel the tension rising. The four men surrounded me. “How about I kick you in the shins?” they asked me.

How does one answer a threat like this? “Uh, no thanks?” “Maybe tomorrow?” I decided on a healthy “Fuck off.”

And with that came the first punch – straight to the nose. I barely had time to realize what was happening when a second strike hit the side of my temple. Several more punches followed, all while I kept shouting a steady pulse of “fuck off”s and “get the fuck away from me”s.

I could not believe what was happening. Not this. Not here. I knew striking back would make the situation much worse, as they outnumbered me four to one. So I put my faith in the citizens of this city. If I could not rely on the decency of these vagrants, at least I would expect a good Samaritan to intervene. Luckily, this was the case, and although she was not as burly as I would have liked, a young woman came to my defence and with persistance persuaded the assailants to leave me alone.

I was thankful this person came by, and I turned to her, if only to find comfort in a pair of sympathetic eyes. She looked at me, and in a pathetic act of consolation, motioned in the direction of the assailants and said, “Don’t worry, those guys are just faggots.”

Total shock. If I wasn’t upset already at the attack, the girl’s response floored me. Are you for real? My saviour was a fraud, just as hurtful as my attackers.

I have been fortunate enough to have witnessed more fights than have fought myself. In fact, the last person to punch me in the face was my best friend, in the grade nine, after we disagreed on the distribution of some candies. I can safely say, however, that getting punched in the face totally sucks. On top of this, getting punched in the face by people you don’t know, for reasons you do not understand, has to be one of the most infuriating experiences ever.

It took me a long time to compose myself. I was furious. I refused police intervention, medical attention, and even consolation from friends. I thought I was fine. I thought I could just shake it off. In hindsight, I wish I had realized that, yes, that’s blood coming out of your nose. Yes, that’s a piece of your tooth you just spat out. No, you are not okay.

I won’t go into the details of what happened afterward, but suffice it to say, I was able to find my way home with the invaluable help of caring friends.

Two weeks later, the event still affects me. I’m left with the aftershock, a buzzing, uncontrollable, psychological tremor. It’s as if someone has infiltrated my mind, cracked the code to my ego, and fiddled with all the knobs, wires, and switches. I have yet to feel the same comfort I once did walking down the street at night; my heart pounds uncontrollably and my neck is pulled and twisted by an invisible string, constantly scanning the street behind me for any possible danger. Sleep has become a luxury. I’ve spent many early morning hours replaying the event in my head, considering different outcomes, each time triggering a stress response.

It’s incredibly painful to know that some people carry around these views and act on them in despicable ways. I feel betrayed – betrayed by a city I once thought was progressive. One in which I thought I, and everyone else, was free to pursue whatever makes us happy as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others. Furthermore, it happened in a place I’ve been countless times. A place where I should not, by any means, feel threatened.

Since then, I’ve asked myself if I should start taking precautionary measures to avoid these types of altercations. Should I not wear tight pants? Should I not outwardly identify as a gay male? Should I avoid streets populated by belligerent assholes? Should I submit to the external pressures pushed on me by these hooligans? The answer to these questions has come surprisingly easily.

Fuck no.

Fuck those guys. Fuck their views on life. Fuck the way they express themselves. I do not have a problem. I am not at fault. He would bring gifts for all the students, our parents would also come and it would just be a really fun day. When I was in the third grade Santa brought along Giga Pets and Basketballs for the students. All of the girls were getting Giga Pets and all of the boys were getting basketballs. Lets just start by talking about how unfair that was. Girls were getting this very cool electronic pet, boys were getting this stupid inflatable piece of rubber. Anyway, It was my turn to see Santa. I walked my little third grade self up there and was BEYOND excited when Santa handed me a Giga Pet instead of a basketball!

My excitement lasted all of four seconds. Santa took the Giga Pet back and said "He doesn't want this, get him a ball" to his stupid Elf. The Elf then traded me the ball for the pet. I was pissed. I hated Santa and I hoped he died.

My disappointment followed me back to our classroom. When we got back to the room I noticed that this other girl, Kendra, was sitting at her desk frowning at her Giga Pet. So I went over and just casually asked her what was up. She told me that she didn't like the Giga Pet and that she wanted the basketball. We proceeded to trade toys. It was one of the most awesome things anyone has EVER done for me. The Giga Pet that I got was the cat (Compu Kitty). That electronic cat brought me hours and hours of enjoyment. I gave it baths and cleaned up its poop, and I fed it. It was so fun! My mom even got addicted to it and would 'baby sit' it for me sometimes.

I had that thing for the longest time. I'm not sure what happened to it, but it is still one of my all time favorite toys.

My second favorite toy as a kid was the Furby!

I don't remember how old I was when I got my first Furby. I do remember that I got it the same year that I got my gameboy color. (Which is another story all together.)
I ended up getting two furbys. My mom bought me the one thats pictured above, and I liked it so much she got me a second one for my birthday. (I couldn't find a picture of it, but It was white with a few brighter colors included. I can't really explain it.) I had so much fun with them, teaching them to talk. I'd put them by my bed at night time and wouldn't let myself fall asleep until they did. (Their snore was so cute!)

Anyway, these were two of my favorite toys and I have a lot of good memories when I think about them!

Kathy Griffin

I don't know if any of you know this, but I LOVE Kathy Griffin. This mainly consists of me going into a classroom and watching a teacher do her job. I also run errands for her. The whole point of this clinical is to get an idea of what it's going to be like for me after I become a teacher. The experience has been great, the woman I have been observing is a fantastic teacher and has made this experience enjoyable.

Today I will actually be standing up in front of a class and giving a lesson. It's not anything huge, just a refresher on subject verb agreement. I'm kind of nervous about it, but I think I'll do well! I have to give the lesson in about 10 mintues or so. Fingers crossed!

Mikey

If U Seek Amy Video

Ok so, I really like it. Admittedly I was a bit underwhelmed the first time I watched it. I was expecting something over the top or whatever and that's not what I got.

I think she looks completely stunning in this video, and I have now decided that I love those shoes (I was on the fence up till now) and I like the dance moves.

I absolutely LOVE how they stick it to that lady from FOX News with the reporter woman in the video. It made me laugh.

Seeing Britney as the housewife and the way she moves and acts after changing her clothes with the pie and all, it makes me wish she'd go do an episode of Desperate Housewives. (Which I love btw)

Anyway, so after watching the video through a few (hundred) times I have decided that, even though It's not what I was expecting, I do really like it. I love the concept that she's two totally different when she's people behind closed doors when she's in the public eye.

I don't think that's shes saying "I'm a big slut who likes a good orgy when no ones looking" though.

I think the point is simply that what you see isn't always what you get?

EDIT: Ok, finally getting around to embedding this video.

American Idol

I find that I am very interested in American Idol this Season. I like the addition of the fourth judge. (I actually like her better than Randy) I also think they have some interesting contestants. Allison the wonderful 16 year old Rocker Chick is probably my favorite of all the females participating. Yes, Lil Rounds and Alexis Grace can both sing like there's no tomorrow but I just don't seem to like them much. Maybe they'll like blow me away with one of their song choices in the coming weeks. We'll see.

Now on to the real reason I'm posing this blog. Adam Lambert. I love him, I think he may be my favorite contestant from ANY of the seasons. (I know, I thought it would always be Carrie Underwood for me too, guess not) Before I rant about why I like him I'll take some time to talk about some of the other male contestants. Kris Allen is wonderfully cute and I like his voice. I hope he makes it at least to the top 10 so he'll get to go on the tour, but I don't see him winning it. One guy who I can see winning is Danny Gokey. The guy can sing (even though I don't think hes anywhere near as incredible as lot of people do) and he's got the whole dead wife sob story going for him. (I don't mean to sound insensitive about it, but you know it's true.) The other male contestant I feel deserves a mention is Scott Macintyre who has an OK voice and a vision problem (he's almost blind). He's another guy who the judges rave about but I just don't feel the same as they do.

Now, back to Adam. I just really like him. At first I wasn't sure that I would (and that made me sad because he's gay and I wanted to like him because of that). I hated his song choice of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction," actually, I hate that song no matter who is singing it. (Except for Britney of course, she can do no wrong.) Speaking of Britney, I'm bummed that Adam doesn't include her as one of his favorite female artists along with Xtina and Madonna. (See his Idol Contestant Page Here) Anyway, after tonights performance of "Black and White" by Michael Jackson I officially love Adam. He looked great, he sounded great, and the judges agreed. They gave him rave reviews.

Check out that performance and Paula's opinion:

I do worry that America will not vote for him because he's gay. Americans obviously still have a problem with gay people (you know, since we don't have all the same rights as straight people). Also, I worry that people WILL like him so much that they think he's going to be safe and fail to vote. (It's happened in the past, can you say Daughtry?)

Anyway, this season is going to be great. I have my fingers crossed for a Britney themed week like they did on the X-Factor in the UK.

Ritter Park

On Sunday when I came back to Marshall Adriene talked me into going to Ritter Park with her and John. Turns out, it was a lot of fun. The weather was really nice and there were lots of people there. We saw a lot of people walking dogs too. I'm not a huge dog person (yes, my family has 2 and I like them, but I don't like strange dogs) so that wasn't fun. We also saw a lot of ducks. Now, you should know that I did listen to this album in its entirety a couple weeks ago when it leaked onto the internet. I loved it then, and that's why I knew I wanted to fork over the 14 bucks for the CD on itunes.

My favorite songs from the album are "If I Can't Have You" "Long Shot" "Already Gone" "All I Ever Wanted" "Impossible" "Cry" and "My Life Would Suck Without You". I will probably learn to really love some of the other songs too, but as of now those are the ones I like best.

I don't really like "Save You" "I Do Not Hook Up" or "Whyyawannabringmedown" yet, and I don't see that changing. Sometimes I just know when I'm not gonna like a song.

You should all go out and by the album, it's pop music at its best. I went to Tolsia and got my business taken care of, it took all of 5 minutes and was over. Not surprising since I just had to get a couple of people to sign a form. Since then not much has been going on. My mom took me to Wal-Mart and bought me some new clothes (since I had none that were appropriate for a professional environment). Then we came home at the boredom set in. I went to bed at 10pm again, but this time I actually managed to sleep all night. I got woken up around noon by my annoying cousin Jennifer.

She came in with her three kids and sat on my bed and talked to me. I ignored them and pretended to sleep through it all. They left, but I was awake and couldn't fall back to sleep so I got up.

I spent the rest of the morning doing absolutely nothing. My cousins had taken over the television, my brother was on the internet, and no one else was home. I just sort of sat around waiting for something to happen. Nothing happened. Finally my mom came home and my cousins left. I decided to watch some TV. "The Birdcage" was on. I've seen it before, but I liked it so I decided I'd watch it again. My mom watched it with me, and she only made one negative remark about gay people ("We should set aside an island just for them."), which was amazing restraint for my mother.

My aunt came to visit. I love her to death. I can talk to her about pretty much anything and we usually have similar opinions about everything. We spent the whole time talking about random things (we haven't seen each other in 2 months, had some catching up to do) and she made me bluetooth her some ringtones for her phone. She just discovered bluetooth so it all made her very excited.

She left and I had dinner with my parents and one of my brothers. (My other brother is 19 now and NEVER home.) I then decided to get online. Its dialup so I can't do anything I want (like YouTube) but writing this blog has been a marvelous distraction.

I'm heading back to Huntington tomorrow. Can't wait!

Mikey

Home Sweet Home?

This weekend I'm back in Wilsondale. (AKA Middle of Nowhere) I was actually really glad to see my mom, brother, and grandma when they came to pick me up. It has been two full months since I last went home to visit so I was actually (kinda) looking forward to this trip home. I talked to my dad on the phone earlier and he was in a good mood. He got a small raise at work.

Of course, the fun trip home turned not so fun when something on the radio brought up the gays. My mom launched into one of her rants about how she doesn't like gay people and blah blah blah. Then Britney came on the radio which got my mom started on the song 'If U Seek Amy' and how she hates it. The ride home gave me a headache.

It's things like this that keep me from telling her that I'm gay. Sometimes it seems like she'd handle the news fine (she wouldn't be ok with it, but she wouldn't disown me either). Then there are the times when it seems like the first thing she'd want to do would be to cry or something. Anyway, I'm getting more and more frustrated with having to pretend to be someone I'm not around her. (She only mentioned me getting a girlfriend like 4 times during the trip home.)

Now that I'm back at my house it makes me realize how much I like life in the city more. Don't get me wrong, this is where I grew up and there are a lot of good memories here, I just like it better in the city. I miss my stupid dorm room and my bed. I went to sleep at 10pm (there's nothing to do here, don't look at me like that.) and only slept for around 4 hours.

I'm leaving here in a couple hours to go back to my old High School so I can get this form signed to do my Level 1 Clinicals there. I'm looking forward to seeing my little brothers and cousins getting on the bus.

I find myself hoping that this weekend goes well. I'm sure that I'll enjoy spending time with my mom and dad as long as no one says the word gay.

Books!

Yesterday the book I've been waiting for FINALLY came in the mail. I was super excited (I'd been waiting to get my hands on this book for almost a month. The local bookstore didn't have it.) Anyway, I dragged myself through my classes and finally got to sit down and read it yesterday night. I finished the whole book. I kept telling myself to stop reading it so the experience would last, but that didn't work out. Ok so here are my SPOILER FREE thoughts.

The book is called 'Hero' and it's written by Perry Moore. Actually, before I start talking about the book let me talk about the author. He's kind of attractive, not like my ideal man or anything, but def. easy on the eyes. His name kind of annoys me, he's one of those "I have two last names" people, and that always bugs me for some reason. His boyfriends name is Hunter Hill, which I love. I've always wanted to date someone whose first and last names started with the same letter. Anyway, on to the book.

It was great. Who knew that all you had to do to get me interested in Super Heroes was to make one gay and have him as the main character. I loved the book, but I did have some issues with it. It was a bit predictable in a coupe places, and parts of it left me a tiny bit confused. Even with these parts I enjoyed the book. Perry Moore definitely referenced a lot of popular super heroes. Wonder Woman and Super Man were the two who he featured prominently(not the characters themselves, but characters who definitely were inspired by them.)

Yeah, I'd recommend this book to anyone. Loved it.

I actually went back to the bookstore today and bought another book. "Promises in Death" by JD Robb. If you haven't read the "In Death" series and you like cop books then you should go buy the first couple immediately.

I'm only 28 pages into this book and I can already tell that it's going to be one of my favorites. The emotions in the first 30 pages are written really well I think. (I've already cried once, go me.) Also, JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) has introduced a new character (Ty Clipper) and he's gay! I REALLY REALLY hope he doesn't turn out to be the murderer because that would suck. Thus far there have been a few gay characters in the In Death series, but none of them have had reoccurring roles. They were around for one book, and then gone. Since Ty Clipper works in the police department with the rest of the characters who show up on a regular basis there's a chance he could be in future books if it doesn't turn out that he's the killer. (So far nothing points to it being him, but like I said, I'm barely 30 pages in.)

Ok yeah, so I decided to day would be a day for blogging about books.

Thanks for reading!
Mikey

Britney Freaking Spears.

Today was FILLED with lots of Britney news. Her tour kicks off in New Orleans tomorrow and it's going to be freaking EPIC. Today Team Britney announced that Britney would be the official Candies spokesgirl for 2009. Along with this announcement was a 40 second video that contained some behind the scenes stuff that gave fans their first look at the Circus tour.

A few hours later Candies.com gave put up an extended version of that 40 second video which was 2 minutes long. In this 2 minutes you get to see Britney's Costumes and various set pieces from the Circus tour. Judging by the video this tour is going to rock. Seriously! I want to go so bad. Below is the full 2 minute tour preview and a video in which I give my reaction to it.

Along with this the opening video for the tour also leaked. The sound was not included (as far as I can tell) but Britney definitely shoots Perez Hilton with a crossbow. It made me happy, I hate Perez and was not glad when I heard he would be part of the tour. It was fun to see her take him down.

Along with all of this we also got to see some of the merchandise that will be included with the VIP tickets. There was this cool looking bag and some pins and a key chain.

Yeah, so today was Britneytastic. Tomorrow the tour actually kicks off and it's going to be soooo exciting.

Still no word on when they will premiere the 'If U Seek Amy' video.

Until Tomorrow!
Mikey

I Saw David Cook

Last night I went to Shawnee State University and saw David Cool live in concert. I had a really good time. The lady next to me didn't seem to be enjoying herself, she sort of just stood there the whole time. The girls in front of me were annoying. Adriene stood on my other side and screamed like a banshee for the whole 2ish hours. It was still fun though! David Cook is great in person and his opening act was wonderful too!

Here is the video I made featuring some clips from the concert:

Flood!

Ok so it looks like someone has flooded the bathroom on my side of the building. The carpet outside the door is all soggy and wet. I think (and hope) that the shower was the source of the flood.

The good part of this mess is that it also looks like the water managed to seep into the room thats four doors down from me. Now you probalby think that I'm mean because of this statement, but I am not. The guy who lives in that room is always playing his music really loudly, and it annoys me. It's not even good music. Rap. I don't like rap. Anyway, so yay for floods.

Another downside of this situation would be the very loud carpet drying fan they now have placed in the hallway. I am playing music in order to distract myself from the fans constant humming.

My favorite song (for tonight) is 'Cry' by Kelly Clarkson. I feel kind of bad for listening to it, since it's a leak. I make myself feel better by thinking about the fact that I'm buying album the day it comes out. I must have it!

Wow, all of this was pretty pointless.

Tomorrow I'll tell you all about my friend Algernon. With video!

Till then, thanks for reading!

Mikey

Quicksand

This is just a fan made video for Quicksand. It's very cool. Those kids who were in the movie were SO cute.

That being said I'm going to talk about the parts of the Oscars that I LOVED.

First of all, having past winners present the awards for Best Supporting Actress and Actor and best Lead Actress and Actor was AMAZING. Best Idea ever I think.

The opening with Hugh Jackman was AWESOME. Loved it. The part with Anne Hathaway was cute! Also the musical number with Beyonce and Hugh, Zac Effron, Vanessa Hudgens, Amanda S. and Dominic Cooper was a lot of fun. I liked when Queen L sang over the in memory thing. Robert Pattinson spoke and presented, that was cool.

It's sad that when they were showing Mickey Rourke as a nominee for best actor I couldn't focus because R Patz was behind him!

When Dustin Lance Black won for Best Original Screenplay I was like YES! Not only is he cute, he's gay. He wrote the screenplay for "Milk". I really liked his speech. Some highlights of that speech include:

"...to all of the gay and lesbian kids who are out there tonight who have been told that they are less than by their churches, or by the government, or by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful, creatures of value and that no matter what anyone tells you god does love you..."

I was SO glad when Kate Winslett won for Lead Actress. I loved all the other nominees but I was really hoping Kate would win, and she did. Her speech was AWESOME! I laughed and I got a little teary. Good job Kate!

I was glad a lot tonight. Sean Penn won for Lead Actor for Milk and gave a very wonderful speech. I don't remember any of it word for word, but there will be a video as soon as one becomes avaliable on YouTube.

Well there ya have it, the best parts of the Oscars in my opinion. The middle portion went a bit slow, but that usually happens. I also loved the skit things that Tina Faye and Steve Martin and James Franco and Seth Brogan did, those were hilarious!

Mikey

(Many videos will be added as soon as I find them on YouTube, so check back!)

Double Video Sunday!

UPDATE: <s>Ok so the second video isn't processing. Yeah.

So recently Marshall opened this brand-spankin-new recreation center and forced all it's full time students to pay a fee to use it, whether they wanted to or not. At first this pissed me off, I am not the type of person who pays to use a gym (Especially not 300 dollars, which is what they made us pay) and I didn't really want to go.

Anyway, it finally opened this month and me and bunch of my friends decided that we'd check it out, since we'd paid for it and everything. This place is really nice. It's got a pool, tons of exercise equipment, a huge gymnasium for basketball and stuff, and a three lane walking track on the top floor that overlooks it all.

We started going on Monday and have been trying to go twice a day. It turns out that we actually enjoy it. It's sucky at times, and my legs now hate me, but I think I'm on my way to being healthier. I enjoy the treadmill and the elliptical thingy, and even the stupid little bikes that go nowhere. I even jogged around the track today. The amazing part of all this, for me anyway, is that I've been having fun doing it! Mostly I listen to my MP3 player when I work out (Lady Gaga is seriously good power walking music.) but each treadmill/stair climber has its own personal flat screen television that you can watch while you torture yourself (work out, whatever you wanna call it).

Anyway, I need to go buy a scale so I can weigh myself weekly to see if all this exercise/dieting is actually helping.

That's about all I have to say this morning. Now I must go get started on a reading assignment thats due on Monday.

Toodles!
<3 Mikey

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dms041788.blogspot.com/2009/02/exercise-yeah.html' title='Exercise. Then I saw the video for her song 'Love Game' and I changed my mind. Now, the video itself I take some issues with, but they're all just me being picky so I won't mention them. The song however, I loved. The first line "Lets have some fun, this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick." caught my attention and the rest of the song kept it.

After I heard the song and watched the video I decided to check out the rest of her music. I had heard "Just Dance" "Poker Face" and "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" before. I liked Just Dance and Eh Eh, but hated Poker Face.

Now, I've heard the whole CD and I must admit that I really enjoy the whole thing. I also now LOVE Poker Face. I'm really bored so I'm going to give you a rundown on my opinions about the CD and Gaga now.

Track 1: Just Dance

This song is amazing. It actually makes you want to do what the title suggests: Dance. When I hear it I want to shake my groove thing, and I usually do. This is a perfect pop song. (Lets remember that everything I say is my own opinion btw)

Track 2: Lovegame

LOVE IT! That's all I'm going to say since I talked about it up there ^.

Track 3: Paparazzi

I also love this one. She sounds great in it and I just want to sing along.

Track 4: Poker Face

I used to hate it, now I love it. I can't help but sing along (especially with the mah mah mahs and the p-p-p-poker face parts.)

Track 5: Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)

I like this song too. Not sure what else to say about it. It's not remarkable, but it's enjoyable.

Track 6: Beautiful, Dirty, Rich

So far I don't like this song much. I don't know and can't explain why, but It just hasn't caught on with me. Maybe it will some day.

Track 7: The Fame

My second favorite song on the whole album. It's really fun and I love it!

Track 8: Money Honey

This is another one that I don't like. Not sure why, just don't like it.

Track 9: Starstruck

I really like this one too. Yay for good music.

Track 10: Boys Boys Boys

This is my favorite track on the CD. I feel like this song should be on the soundtrack of my life. I love it! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Track 11: Paper Gangsta

This one is ok. It's not great, don't love it, but don't dislike it.

Track 12: Brown Eyes

I like this one. It's a more ballady song, but I like it anyway.

Track 13: I Like it Rough

This is another one that I don't love, but don't hate either. Take it or leave it.

Track 14: Summerboy

Love this one too! I just like what shes singing about, and it makes me smile.

Now, all of that being said. I'm still not sure I like Gaga the performer. Her hair is weird, I don't like her outfits 90% of the time. It seems like she's trying too hard to be different to me when she's really exactly the same typical pop singer that we all know and love.

So yeah, I can't make up my mind if I love her or not, but I do a love a lot of her music and that's enough for me.

I Hate Tatiana del Toro.

I missed my English class today. It's not my fault though, I blame the stupid storm and the internet, which distracted me and made me forget that I had a class to go to.

This day started off wonderfully. I let myself sleep till 1 o'clock. (pm that is) I dragged myself out of bed and decided to see what the weather was like. I threw open the curtains and the bind and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was bright and sunny outside. People were wearing shorts, and there were a couple attractive shirtless guys playing Tennis, and a few guys with their shirts on playing some other sport over in the field like area by the tennis courts. I took all of this as a sign that I should wear shorts to class, which I did.

I get to class at 4 o'clock. (The hours between 1 and 4 were spent doing homework, showering, and fixing my hair. My hair looked damned good when I left the room.) I'd been sitting in class for 40 minutes when I noticed that it was beginning to get dark outside. Another twenty minutes pass and it starts to rain, and the wind is blowing VERY hard. At this point the teacher tells us we can leave class (A full hour early) because of the weather. Which was sort of a good thing. However, on the walk back to the dorms from Jenkins Hall (where my class was) I got soaked, my hair got ruined and it was FREEZING cold rain.

I had dinner with Adriene, John, and Millie, came back to my room and have been here since. (I was supposed to go to English 342 at 6:30 but I forgot and wouldn't have wanted to walk there in that rain anyway.) I watched American Idol.

Oh, what to say about American Idol? I think I hate it. (Not the serious hate, the kind of hate where you say you hate something but you don't mean it, you're just mad because things didn't go the way you wanted them to.) The very beginning of the show was good. The guy named Von Smith got through. I was glad, I've been a fan of his since his audition when he sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." The gladness ended there. My second favorite from this season (so far) was Cody Sheldon, he had to sing off with a friend of his and go cut. SERIOUSLY? I will miss him. I hear they're doing wild cards again this season, so I hope he gets brought back. Is that possible though? I can't remember how the wild card works. Anyway, moving on. This show was 2 hours long, and it was just 2 hours of people walking in to see the judges and find out if they make it into the top 36. During this time Guy Whose Wife Died makes it in, but his best friend does not. Blind guy gets in as well, which made me happy.
They let that Norman Gentle guy through. That's going to be interesting.

Anyway, as all of this is going on, I just want to know whats going to happen with Tatiana del Toro (or as I like to call her Tatiana del Annoying Bitch). Turns out, they save her for one of the last people. As soon as its her turn and she walks into the judges room and lets out one of her Squeals I realize, once again, how much I hate her. Seriously, she makes me want to throw things or eat my own face. (What? I know that doesn't sound possible, but she's so annoying I want to find a way) Anway, she squeals and manages to get free Jewlery designed by Paula and SURPRISE she makes it through to the top 36. I swear, if she gets any farther I'll scream or something.

So now for the next 3 weeks the top 36 will preform in groups of 12. At the end of this episode they showed the 12 that we'll be seeing next week and Tatiana del Annoying Bitch is one of them. Hopefully she wont make it any farther. During her scene at the end (they had all the contestants dancing to "When I Grow Up") shes wearing this sparkley dress. I REALLY HATE HER.

So Idol went off and I cleaned my room. It looks nice in here again, hopefully it'll last a few weeks this time.

Now it's almost 2am and I'm not even tired. Go me.

Anyway, that's all for tonight.

Toodles!

Sunshine and Songs!

It is REALLY pretty outside today. I woke up and looked out my window and was surprised to see the sun shining full blast and people moving all over campus. There were a few attractive guys playing tennis, a group of girls who looked like they'd just been running or something, and they all looked very happy.

Just seeing the sun put me in a good mood for some reason, which is odd since I usually prefer cold weather. I sat at my computer to make my daily rounds and I put some Britney on in the background. Nothing from 'Circus' today, I was feeling some of the older stuff. Old bonus tracks actually. "I Run Away" "And Then We Kiss" and "I've Just Begun Having My Fun" have been on repeat for a while.

The Grammys are on tonight! I'm going to watch them, it's musics biggest night and all that jazz. I'm mainly just looking forward to seeing what all the stars are wearing on the red carpet. I'm gonna predict that Katy Perry is gonna look AMAZING.

Well this was a pointless blog wasn't it? Hope you're all having a great Sunday! It's 1:37am as I begin to write this and guess what, I'm bored!

The day got off to a bad start! I over slept and didn't get to go to this service project thing I wanted to. It wasn't my fault though, my phone died and the alarm didn't go off. (So it was my fault for not making sure the charger was plugged in before I went to sleep, but lets not get picky.)

My evening started by going to a very hurried dinner with Adriene and Kirstin. Kirstin and I wanted to take the bus to Pullman, but apparently it ran early and we missed it. Which made us decide to see a later (and more expensive) showing of the movie we wanted to see. The only positive thing that came from all of this was that we got to sit at the bus stop and enjoy watching many attractive men walk by. This, of course, made us spend many minutes arguing over whether the guys we were checking out were gay or straight.

This section contains spoilers about the movie Coraline
Tonight was fun, it was actually so warm outside that I didn't even need to wear a jacket on the walk to Pullman. Kirstin and I went to watch 'Coraline' which as an amazing movie! I think Dakota Fanning did a good job with the voice acting, and so did Terri Hatcher. The movie itself was CREEPY! I'm not so sure that every part of it was kid friendly (especially the part with the woman with HUGE breasts being topless with nothing but some sparkly things on her nipples bouncing around.) The 3D aspects of the movies made is SO fun. It was a stunning movie in terms of the visuals.
Spoilers have ended

After the movie we went to Starbucks where the line was LONG. The tiny Starbucks was completely crowded, but we managed to get our drinks quick enough. Then we decided that since it was so nice out we'd walk instead of taking the bus. Some annoying children (whose parents were MIA) actually said "Can I have a drink of that" as we walked by them. We didn't respond, so they threw ice at us. Kids are annoying.

Speaking of kids, the movie theater was FULL of them. (That's what you get when you see an animated 3D movie) and it was so cute! When the 3D parts would happen they'd get all excited. At one point the cat killed this evil mouse/rat thing and one of the kids who didn't understand it was evil was said "Why did he do that dad?" in this cute whisper that was more like a yell. It was way too sweet to be annoying.

Well, we made it back to Campus without further incident and I've been settled in here since. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a very boring day.

Toodles!

Such A Nice Day

It was SO nice outside today. I wanted to go get this book called 'Hero' which the bookstore, of course, did not have, but the walk was nice. I also got to go to Starbucks and get my fix which ROCKED.

Besides that I've been reading some blogs today, you should go and check out this Boy Culture blog thing, click here!

I thought it was a funny idea lol.

Anyway, just a little update since the day was so pretty!

Toodles!

PS: How would you feel if your booty ended up on someones blog?

College

Today I actually sat down and thought about how this semester at Marshall has been going. I guess I was just in a responsible mood. (Or maybe it was because I didn't have Queer as Folk to distract me.) Either way I have decided that this semester is going well, I have missed English class once, and it wasn't really for a very good reason, but besides that everything is good. I've managed to get all my homework finished on time, I like all of my professors (Even Paynter in an odd way) and I understand the things that are being taught to me.

I think the major difference between this semester and last (which was a total train wreck) is that I'm actually getting to take classes that I'm going to NEED when I get out into the real world. Last semester I had to take a bunch of classes that taught me things I'm probably never going to use again.

I don't know why I'm writing this blog, I'm just in a writing mood. It happens.

Toodles!

Season 2 Was Great, But I'm Mad.

Ok, so I have mentioned how I'm obsessed with this show right? Every time I see someone with a baby, or see a cute little kid on TV I get this funny feeling inside, I just can't wait for the day that I get to be a father. It's not one of those, "Ohhhh babies are cute, I want one so I can dress it up and play house" things either. I realize that a baby is A LOT of hard work and responsibility. It's a human being, not a dolly, and you shouldn't enter into parenthood with all these ideas of how easy it will be. I can't really put into words WHY I want children so badly. There's just something about the idea of loving someone so much you'd do anything for them, and all the other wonderful things that come along with parenthood that just appeal to me.

Now, that being said, I don't really know if I'll ever get the chance to be a father. I'm gay, and it's not easy for gay men to have children, the number one reason being that men can't get pregnant. When I bring this up with my friends they all say "Well, there's always adoption and surrogacy." And they're right. Those are two options. However, for some stupid reason, there's still a debate going on in our country that asks "can two gay parents properly raise a child?". I personally think that this is one of the most ridiculous things ever. EVERY DAY children are taken care of by single mothers, or single fathers. There are a lot of children raised by gay couples, and none of them are majorly messed up. (No more than any "normal" straight families anyway).

Some people argue that two men can't provide a child with the maternal aspect that he or she needs to grow up "properly". I wonder what people consider the "proper" way to grow up? I mean, everyone is different and thats what makes life so great. I am very confident that If I were given the chance to be a father I would do just fine with giving the child any and everything they need.

The other option mentioned was Surrogacy, and it's a good option. I'm not sure how it works, I haven't really looked into for one reason: There are so many children in this world already who need good homes. That is basically the only reason why I haven't though more seriously about it, I'd really like to be able to adopt someday after I find someone to share my life with who also wants kids.

I don't know if I'll ever be a parent, but I REALLY want it. I HOPE that by the time I'm ready for children (which is no time soon, it's years away actually) America has opened its eyes and realized that I can raise children, and do a damned good job of it.

Held Hostage By My Television

Last week I decided I was going to rent the first three disks of Season 1 of 'Queer as Folk' from Netflix. I made this decision based on some of the Netflix reviews and the fact that the show is filled with attractive men. I watched the first episode and liked it, but no more than any other TV show.

Then, episode 3 happened.

Spoiler Alert: Read no farther if you ever plan on watching Queer as Folk.

There's a scene in episode 3 in which Justin (a cute blonde boy) is trying to get Brian (sexy, but brutally honest) to notice him. They had already had very good sex in the first two episodes, but Brian is the type of guy who sleeps with a person once, then moves onto someone new. Anyway, Brian is on the dance floor dancing with not one, but TWO hunks and isn't giving Justin another thought. Justin is standing up on this platform type thing with his friend Daphne, who makes the comments "Is he gonna do it with BOTH of them?" Just responds with "He can do anything he wants." Justin then walks down the stairs, removes his shirt, and makes his way onto the dance floor. (All the time 'Lets Hear it for the Boy' is playing in the background.)
There's also a large amount of glitter flying. Anyway, Justin ends up getting Brian, and it was awesome! Why am I even typing all this, here's a video clip. Just skip through to 1:20 and ignore the scene where Ted is about to go into a coma.

Anyway, that scene got me hooked. I was then held hostage by my television for the rest of disks 1-3. (Thats 11 episodes) and couldn't wait the two days till the next disks arrived. (I'm not completely crazy, I left my room to eat, shower, and go to the movies with my friends.)

The show gets better as it goes. Brian and Justin have lots more things happen (because Brian can't seem to commit to anything, let alone a relationship) But at the end of Season 1 Brian goes to Justins prom with him (Did I mention that Justin was only 17 when they met, and Brians 28?) and then Justin gets bashed in the skull by a homo-hating idiot. (Who happened to let Justin give him a hand job earlier in the season) The show then ends with Brian sobbing (which is a big deal, he never cries.) in the waiting room.

I can't wait for season 2 now, but Its probably good that it'll have to wait till Wednesday (because Netfix is exchanged through the mail which does not run on Sunday, which throws stuff off) because I have homework to do this weekend.

Anyway, check the show out, it rocks.

Road Trip!

Ok so, tonight I went on a road trip to Point Pleasant West Virginia. Now, granted, its not a long drive at all, but it totally still counts. A few friends and myself got really bored and decided to go see the Mothman statue and the Silver Bridge. The ride there was really fun, we stopped at Wendys and got some food, and listened to music the whole way there.

When we got there we were looking around for the statue, we almost missed it, but got lucky when Millie saw it. We parked the car, got out, took some pictures with the statue (it's 12 feet tall and John asked it to marry him), looked around the town a bit, then got back in the car to head home. On the way back we drove across the Silver Bridge. I took some footage for YouTube, but my camera ate some of it and the rest is too dark, maybe I'll put some of it in as extra stuff after my next video.

Overall I had a great time. My friends are crazy and I love spending time with them. Here are some pictures, enjoy! (They're a bit large, so if you want to see the whole thing just click on the photo.)

This is Adriene, Millie, John, and Vanessa standing around the statue:
<img have been watching A LOT of Buffy the Vampire Slayer here lately. I've watched almost all the episodes (this show was my absolute favorite thing ever back when it was first on the air). For some reason though, I never watched the final season. Maybe I was just in denial that it could ever end or something, I don't know, anyway, the other day I decided I wanted to know how it ended. I also decided that instead of just watching the final season and being done with it, I would watch every episodes from start to finish. There are a lot of episodes. I'm currently watching Season 3, it's the one where Faith shows up and causes problems by going all evil.

There are a few things I've noticed while taking my trip down memory lane:

The corny jokes are all still just as funny as they were the first time I heard them.

Don't get used to any cute boys because they always end up getting killed or being some type of evil monster.

The girl who played Kendra did a very bad accent.

All the sad stuff is still sad even though you know it's coming.

Spike is still sexy.

Anyway, I have a lot to do today, reading assignment for English, stupid question thingy for EDF, and I need to do laundry and clean my room a bit.

Peace out!

Were The World Mine

Ok so, a couple months back I was browsing around the blog on Out.com and they had this entry about a gay movie/musical called 'Were the World Mine' and as soon as I saw the trailer I wanted to see it so badly! Of course it wasn't coming anywhere near me (living in this part of the world sucks.) and there was no chance I would get to see it before it got released on DVD. After finding this out, I sort of just forgot about it, until yesterday. For some reason it just popped into my head to see if there was any news on the DVD release date front. Looks like it'll be out this Spring or sometime in summer.

I don't know why I'm writing about it, but I'm going to share the trailer with you all because I can.

Now, as long as I'm on the subject of movies, I recently watched a short film called 'James.' about a young man who thinks he might be gay. It was really good, and sad. If you are so inclined then you can get it for FREE from itunes.

Also, I finally got to see the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas Special and it was GREAT. I"m going to miss David SOOO BADLY when he goes. I saw an interview his replacement Matt Smith gave and I'm very interested in seeing where he takes the Doctor.

Besides that, not much going on right now. I've been watching American Idol and its just the same as it always has been only with a fourth judge. I really like her.

The last thing I'm going to mention is that I spent some time watching old episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer today and it still rocks just as much as it did back in the day.

Cold Much?!

God it was cold outside today. Of course, me being me, I spent a very large portion of the day outside. I walked from Pullman Square to the Cook Eye Center with my friend Kirstin. I waited in the waiting room while she had her appointment. You can meet some pretty interesting people in waiting rooms.

I kept hoping some cute guy would come in and sit near me or something, sparks would fly, and we'd have this whirlwind romance. I know, very unrealistic of me. I was having one of those days. Instead I got to meet two very old ladies, they were nice ladies, but I still would have liked my cute guy. (Preferably a sexy nerd type guy with nice glasses.)

Anyway, besides that I went to Starbucks today, twice. (I know, shame on me, but like I said, it was COLD.) I also went to see 'My Bloody Valentine' in 3D. It wasn't a very good movie, but the 3D elements made it worth the money. To hear more about that check out my latest YouTube video.

Things That Bother Me

I'm going to start this blog by letting everyone know that 'Unusual You' by Britney Spears is like THE BEST song to listen to when it's really REALLY cold outside and you have to walk to class.

While I'm on the subject of Britney Spears I'm going to go ahead and say that I don't like the fact that Jive picked 'If U Seek Amy' for the fourth single from 'Circus.' Sure, it's a great song, and the fact that she pretty much spells out 'fuck' is going to get some people interested. I just like 'Unusual You' way better, and I think that it would be a good song for winter time.

Anyway, on to the point. I really don't like it when people who have more than 10 items go through the '10 items or less' lane at Wal-Mart. I mean, the whole point of the lane is so people who aren't buying lots and lots of things can get checked out faster. I don't mind when people who have like 11 items go in the line, its one over, no big deal. But when Miss-Pink shirt-Yellow-PJ-bottoms is at Wal-Mart buying 900 dollars worth of groceries which equals up to like a million items, she has no business in the 10 items or less lane. That's all I'm saying.

If you're a gay guy, I want to know who your favorite Spice Girl is. Here's why: My favorite Spice Girl is Ginger Spice. Almost every gay guy I know likes Ginger Spice. I just want to know if I just know a lot of people with similar tastes in Spice Girls, or if Ginger happens to be like the universal best Spice Girl according to gay men.

Anyway, yay for pointless blogs!

Home

I have a final in 45 minutes that I really do not feel prepared for, but I need a quick study break so I'm writing this.

Directly after my final tonight I will be loading my things to the car and heading home to stay with my parents for the duration of winter break from school. I will not like it much, It will be great to see my family but I am from the most boring place on Earth. Seriously, if you are currently thinking "No, I live in the most boring place" just imagine that where you live could get 100 times more boring and you have my hometown.

The internet where I live is dialup (Because it's not possible to get anything else there) so I will have to go a whole three weeks (or a bit more) without watching any videos on YouTube. I will be posting one video a week (I promise.)

Ok thats all for now, just letting you know whats going on.

Sir Rupert, the Gay Knight

I came across this video today and thought it was incredibly cute and wanted to share it with people:

I think this is a very cute story that has a nice message, I'd enjoy reading a children's story like this to my kids one day.

Happy Holidays!

Hi guys!

Ok so, yesterday, it snowed! And lots! I LOVE the snow. I could never live somewhere with no snow, I'd go crazy! The snow got me thinking about how it's getting really close to Christmas time, so I went online and made up my wishlist and sent it zipping off to my parents. I asked for clothes, and nothing else. I love the fact that asking for clothes isn't as dangerous as it could be due to the wonderfulness of the internet. Instead of being scared that my mom will pick horrible things to give me I now take comfort in the fact that I sent her a list of the exact items I want, they're already size, and all she has to do it click and pay!

On a completely unrelated note, I have recently found the Luke and Noah "As The World Turns" videos on YouTube and am addicted I think. However, they have reminded me of the all the things I hate about Soap Operas. The most serious of which being the way they change the actor who plays a character with no warning, especially when they're replacement sucks!

I'm going to go watch Desperate Housewives now (don't even get me started, I'm LOVING the story line they've got going on.) and I'm making a new YouTube video after. I have finals at the end of the week, not looking forward to that, and then next week it's return to Dialup.

Yay December!

Peace Out!
Mikey

The Circus Has Arrived

I got my copy of 'Circus' from itunes today and I'm loving it! Based on all of the 30 second clips Amazon had put up a couple weeks ago I was almost positive that I would hate 'Mmm Papi' and 'My Baby' but turns out I love them both! (Even if Mmm Papi is a bit odd, I still like it)

It snowed a bit this morning while I was watching Good Morning America. Britney preformed 'Circus' and 'Womanizer' and I loved it! (Hated the outfit she wore while doing Womanizer though) Oh, and she's going to be on Ellen Thursday so set your DVRs or whatever.

Ok, this was pointless, I'm off to dance around my room like a crazy to 'Lace and Leather'

Much Love!
Mikey

For The Record

Hey guys!

I just finished watching 'Britney: For The Record' and I really enjoyed it. It made me laugh, it came very close to making me cry, and I was glad to see some behind the scenes stuff from Britney. Getting to see her silly side again (shopping with Brett and talking about the 'Sarah Jessica Parker' dress) and that she is happy a lot of the time. At the same time, seeing the scene where she tries to go into the store to shop and the paps swarm the doors and stuff, and you can just barely hear her say something along the lines of 'they're scaring me' or 'I'm scared' (I can't remember exactly) made me sad. And hearing her talk about the conservatorship also made me sad, she's obviously unhappy with the situation. Anyway, I'm glad I got to see this and I'm sooo excited for the CD to come out on Tuesday.

Did you guys watch? This is going to be a looong blog. Thinking about it now I probably should have used some of my free time this week to blog, and I had A LOT of free time. I mean, a lot. A full week in Wilsondale is not fun. I love my family and have been super glad to see them, but I'm so ready to get back to Marshall tomorrow.

I spent a very large part of my week sleeping and playing cards. I also watched some TV and messed around online a bit, and of course Thursday was Thanksgiving so I helped cook and ate a lot that day.

It's EARLY Sunday morning (around 2am) and that means that in mere hours I'll be packing up the last of my things and heading back to Marshall. I'll get to see all of my friends today, this week has made me realize how important having good friends is. I think I take you guys for granted, just know that without each and every one of you (even those of you I don't actually see in person much) life would suck major.

There's really not much of a point to this blog/note/bulletin (depending on where you're reading this) besides just to ramble on about nothing. This week expect at least 4 new YouTube videos from me (it's been impossible to get them to upload on dialup) and I'll probably bug you all with details about Britney's album (I'm going to the Mall to get it on Tuesday, on the bus, any of you who wish to come with me, even if you have no interest in buying the CD, just let me know and we'll make it a field trip.)

Anyway, I hope those of you on break this week had a good one, see (or talk to) you all soon!

(I expect my phone to be in use non-stop tomorrow. Text me! Yay cell service.)

Phonography

Ok, so I'm not happy that 'Circus' was leaked onto the interwebs over the past few days. However, I did cave in and listen to 4 of the songs (and those are the only ones I'll hear before I get the album darnit) and I decided I'd share one with you.

This songs all about phone sex and I really dig it. Here's the good news story I promised:

Three cheers for the Nutmeg State, which begins issuing marriage licenses today while the rest of the nation argues over California passing Proposition 8. The Hartford Courant, which doesn't usually get a chance to crow at length about the state, leads with a feature whose theme is, "Oh, right, that same-sex marriage thing is happening. Yeah, it's no big deal for us. We don't know what the hell is wrong with the rest of you people." For example:
"They could do what they want to do," said Karen Dowdell, a 61-year-old Hartford resident who was shopping at Corbins Corner in West Hartford Tuesday morning. "I could care less."
"I don't think it's a big deal," said Robert San Angelo, 57, of Naugatuck. He supports same-sex marriage, but when asked if it is a significant issue, he shook his head and said, "I think the economy is a lot more important."
The best quote however, comes from Rep.Michael Lawlor:
"[Today] will come and go, and I think what kind of puppy Barack Obama will get will be a much bigger topic of conversation in Connecticut than the fact that several dozen couples will get married."
Oh, Connecticut, you're so cool. No, seriously, you are. Congrats. While Peter Wolfgang, executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut, points out that Connecticut didn't vote on same-sex marriage and that every state that puts it to a vote winds up out outlawing it, we're of the opinion that putting the rights of a minority up for a popular vote is — what's the word we're looking for? Unfair? Unjust? Morally wrong? Take your pick.
In the meantime, let's wish couples like Beth Kerrigan and Judy Mock (pictured), who brought the suit to the CT Supreme Court the best of luck as they join the totally boring /profoundly moving institution of marriage.

Source: Queerty

Wall of Shame

Today I was bouncing around the interwebs reading various articles when I came across one that made me a bit blah. Since this is my blog and I can use it however I wish, I decided to share this with the rest of you.

I don't know if any of you have head of the rapper "Trick Trick." But probably not. Anyway, he gave an interview about his upcoming album and decided he'd go on record about gay people buying it. (Not that any of us would anyway, but heres what he had to say.)

“I’ma go on the record right now with this. Homosexuals are probably not gonna like this album. Fa**ots hate me and I don’t give a f**k. I don’t want your fa**ot money any goddam way. I don’t like it. Carry that shit somewhere else.… It’s just that every time that you turn on the the TV, that sissy s**t is on. And they act like it’s f***ing okay. The world is changing for the worst when s**t like that happen. And I address that issue. I address it hard as hell…"

And if that wasn't enough he continued to say:

“I wish people would learn to be more respectful of themselves and those around them. Pay more attention to God because all His attention is on you. If you want respect from me just be respectful. If you respect yourself you’ll respect everything around you. You gotta be respectful. Because, once a person respect themselves they’ll respect others. And when you respect others you’ll get that respect back. If more people in this world would learn to respect themselves and how to respect other people we wouldn’t have as many problems as we do now.”

I think that these two quotes contradict each other, don't you? The sad part is that, if you're a fan of rap (and I'm not anyway), this album could have held some promise, especially since it features collaborations with some big-name rappers who already have established careers. ( Eminem, Ice Cube, Kid Rock, Proof, Esham, Dr. Dre , Guilty Simpson, and Royce Da 5’9)

Anyway, I'll end my rant about this idiot here. Check back soon for a happier post that includes some good news.

Oh Eww.

Ok so, today another promotion picture of Britney Spears surfaced and I don't like it. And if you know me and how much I love Britney, then you know that me not liking it is weird lol. Have a look for yourself:

I really love the outfit, but to me her face looks photoshopped or something. This means the song's called 'Circus', and it's from the album 'Circus'. "I run a tight ship," Britney announces, "so beware - I'm like the ringleader, I call the shots, I'm like a firecracker I make it hot, now put a show". What does this mean? Well, she is a ringleader on a ship - we presume this is something to do with a special circus on a cruise liner of some sort. Basically Britney is comparing herself to lots of things at the same time. Your English teacher will tell you this is a silly thing to do - but Britney is allowed to do it, because she is Britney. The track comes with massive thudding electronic R&B production and there's a lot of stopping and starting, including a a built-in MTV-style dance breakdown segment. The chorus lyric is "all eyes on me in the centre of the ring just like a circus" but the best bit's the bridge, with its "I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins, spotlight on me and I'm ready to break, I'm like a performer with this world as a stage" bit. There's all sorts of other stuff about "don't stand there watching me, following me, show me what you can do". Bits of it are a lot like 'Break The Ice' from the last album, but with an extra layer of Big Production.

OUT FROM UNDER
'Blackout' didn't have any big ballads so here is one for 'Circus'. It's incredibly similar to this version...

...of the song but with more guitar (weedy guitar, not big proper guitar). The production's a lot less sparse and a great deal more 'Britney ballad' (in the 'I'm Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman' tradition). Basically the most interesting thing about Britney's version that you can't hear on the Joanna Pacitti original is the finale, which ends with a great "from under, from under, from under" bit.

IF U SEEK AMY
This is the one people are excited about because the words "if you seek Amy" sound like "F-U-C-K me". After a "la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la" intro the song sort of throws itself into a ridiculous faux-lesbo 'romp' in which Britney looks for girl called Amy in a club ("oh baby baby have you seen Amy tonight, is she in the bathroom?"), can't find her while the club's closing, bangs on about "love me hate me, say what you want about me but all the boys and all the girls are ready to f-u-c-k me" and then goes bonkers over a lot over a thunderous Timbaland vs Scooter production job. There are some "ha ha he he ho ho ho" bits, a great whooshing noise into the final chorus and an overriding sense that this might be one of Britney's most ridiculous recordings to date.

'VERDICT': It's 'Blackout 2.0' - this is good news, 'Blackout' was a phenomenal album - but seems to include a lot of posturing and also seems to be quite gimmicky, which hopefully won't extend across the entire album. The inclusion of a song like 'Out From Under' suggests that this album, as a whole, might be a bridge between 'In The Zone' and 'Blackout', or at least a bridge between 'Blackout' and a next album more along the 'In The Zone' lines. That didn't make any sense at all, did it. Anyway if these are the very best songs on the album we're probably heading for a 7/10 sort of affair but it's hard to second guess a Britney album so what it will end up like is anybody's guess.

Source: Popjustice.com

More On Prop 8

I'm gonna share a couple videos that I watched today with ya'll.

This first one is Keith Olbermann on MSNBC talking about Prop 8.
